We are made up of many “sub-personalities” and they can totally control our lives if we are not aware of them. Our sub-personalities dictate whether we are going to be rich or poor, successful or unsuccessful, or even be in a love relationship or not.

Voice Dialogue is a method for learning about, contacting and working with the sub-personalities, or “Selves”, that reside in each of us – the Psychology of Selves. The difference between coaching and Voice Dialogue is that there are no preconceived goals or action steps. The only aim is that you cultivate the ability to tune into your own inner wisdom. In doing that, you have a true guiding light illuminating your path in life.


A Voice Dialogue session occurs between two people, you and the facilitator. The facilitator’s role is to help you experience and become aware of the Selves that currently run your life. When you get to know them, you are able to involve them consciously by means of the Aware Ego Process.

It is this Aware Ego Process that separates the Voice Dialogue method from other methods that may seem similar, for example, Gestalt Therapy. When you partake in the Voice Dialogue method, you will be able to separate from the many selves that make up your psyche and create more space for your Aware Ego to operate. What is most important to remember is that none of our “Selves” are discarded. Indeed, they are embraced and our disowned ones become known, seen and heard. In doing this we become more compassionate toward ourselves and others… this is a natural by-product of the work and is something that requires no effort.

No other method allows you to contact and consciously incorporate your Selves so that you are given the choice of who drives your ‘psychological car’.

Developing your Aware Ego means that you experience the “Selves”, and in doing that, carry tension between opposing forces within you. That is, you do not sway between one point of view and the other, you are able to carry both points of view at the same time. This is what creates real choice in life and enables you to safely follow your unique destiny. You will no longer be Parts directed but Soul directed.

Therefore, Voice Dialogue helps you to realise your full potential by understanding ‘who’, within you, is controlling your life.

Ask yourself now, who is driving your psychological car? Is it:

The Saboteur?

The Pusher?

The Controller?

The People Pleaser?

The Inner Critic?

The Child? Or another aspect of yourself?

BEWARE! Many coaches who claim to be Voice Dialogue facilitators have not been formally facilitated as a client for the amount of time necessary for depth of insight. Voice Dialogue facilitators should have undergone formal facilitator training themselves in the method, as well as done their own work as a client of the method in order to experience personal separation from their own ‘Selves’ that used to run their life. If this is not the case, they will not able to take their own clients to the necessary depth of understanding and awareness, because they, themselves, have not been there. It is wise, therefore, to question anyone facilitating this method about the training they have undergone.
